Project X

Plastic is ubiquitous in our society and is used for a variety of purposes, from food packaging to electronics to clothing and toys. The effects of plastic pollution are catastrophic for our environment.

Millions of tons of waste are produced every day, a large part of which consists of environmentally harmful plastic. Especially in the oceans, plastic causes serious damage to marine flora and fauna and also endangers human health.

Microplastics are particularly problematic because they enter the oceans through sewage, rainwater, erosion and illegal waste disposal, where they are ingested by marine organisms. Larger fish are also affected by microplastics, which also affects the quality of the marine animals intended for consumption.

According to United Nations estimates, around 8 million tons of garbage end up in the world's oceans every year, of which around 80% is washed into the seas from land, according to UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme).

What can we do to reduce plastic pollution in the oceans?

We see two main options for countering this negative development. Firstly, we should strive to make products generally reusable in order to reduce the number of single-use products. Secondly, systematic recycling of plastic is essential. It goes without saying that the harmful pollution of sea water by plastic products must be rigorously reduced using all available means. In doing so, we must ensure that the current amount of garbage in the seas is drastically reduced.

With our partner (Plastics for Change) we are trying to make our impact even more just. The organization ensures that the paths of new garbage into the sea are blocked and that existing garbage in the sea is removed and reused. This year and in future years we are therefore funding this project. For every product sold, our donation will remove 1 kg of garbage from the world's oceans. In this way, by selling our stainless steel bottles we are helping to support effective measures.
